hi think i might need a bit of help, just bought a set of H.I.D lights, on all the instructions it says first remove the headlight, how do you do this exactly ?. once its removed i dont think i will have a problem, just got to get it off first!
cheers & appreciate your help :augie

From memory there's 2 bolts beside the indicators and a big leccy connector.

If you haven't worked this out yourself.... I'm concerned that you are attempting this.

Tend to agree but.

Remove screen.

Remove two bolts(Torx) either side.
(These are RUBBER nut type fixings. It is entirely possible the thread may be corroded slightly however this will cuse the rubber nut to spin.Long nose pliers are needed to hold nut)

remove all cable connections,2 connector blocks IIRC.

Pull UP gently and forward.

Like karnevil described. Pretty straightforward - doesn't really need a step by step. You don't need to remove the headlight to do the job but it is much easier to have decent access to the back of the light unit.

I've had reason to take my light out a few times, most recently when I fitted HID from Les recently - it's a very easy job. :thumb2

I'm going to be fitting some HID's from Les later today after I pick them up from him, from what I can see on mine I don't need to remove the screen to gain access to the 2 torx bolts :)

However, I do need to remove the light unit... I replaced the sidelight bulb earlier on with an LED one, and had enough trouble getting access to do that lol!

Big hands... nightmare!

From memory you need to remove the screen to lift the light unit right out. No problem reaching the torx bolts, just that you can't pull the light unit right out with the screen still in place. For all the time it takes it's better to left the screen off first and save any messing.

Remove the screen so you can get access to the lamp unit to cleanly lift it up and forward and remove multiplugs

Glad it worked out. How are you finding those HIDs? At least it'll be dark soon so you can get out to play with them!
