My 30,000 mile 950 suddenly started to sound like a tractor.... and I realised that the rear header seal had been blown out (pretty worn). I did attempt a temporary bodge with exhaust tape (but that only lasted 100 miles before also being blown out...)

So now to do a proper job, looking to take out exhaust can and fit a new seal - looks like I have to take off Gobi pannier rack mountings (inc rear footpegs and rack) and side covers to get there.

Is it pretty straightforward - other than the potential seized bolt somewhere?

yes to get cans off you have to strip down the back end :blast
but being a KTM its not difficult,
it may be your y piece rusted through or split (common )
just dont tighten everything up till all bolts are in place and you should be fine :thumb2

Dazzle, that's what I hoped. But the Gobi panier frames have to come off to get the side panels off. And the rear footrests and the rear rack have to come off to get the panier frame mountings off...... :eek
