Thinking of going to System 6 helmet but don't want the cost of a new bluetooth kit when there's a perfectly good BMW one on my existing helmet.

Has anyone removed, or know if you can remove them to refit? Stock answer from the dealer is 'no' but then it would be!:augie

Anybody done it?!

sorry,is it just me?
you turn up a major companies offices on your bike, complaining about the bmw dealer fitment on your BMW branded helmet and your surprised they tell you to feck of?
im resisting the temptation to go any furthur and call you a twat.

If you are talking about the WCS-1 (the bluetooth that BMW withdrew due to problems) from a System 5 then I don't know if it will fit a System 6, but I have just bought a WCS-2 that was fitted to a System 5 and fitted it to my System 6.
The only difference that the parts man at BMW could find was the external button pad, you can change the pad for a System 6 shape (£50) but the one off the System 5 will still fit the System 6.
Once I found out how you fit the bluetooth system to a helmet it only took me about 30 mins to do.

Oooh! Do tell more!

How did you get the button unit off the side of the System V? Hair dryer?:augie

As much info as you're prepared to share on the removal would be appreciated!:D

Hi Andy
I didn't remove it from the helmet, I bought it already removed, but it shouldn't be difficult, there was no sticky stuff left on the pad so the guy must have cleaned it all off and Ive reglued it to the helmet.

I am talking about this button set

and not the earlier one.

Yep. That's the one!

I've got to come down to Cotswold in the next couple of weeks so I may give you a call if I get stuck.
