removing crash bars for valve adjustment?

Should I remove the adv crash bars before doing a valve adjustment? Its the 1st time I wil try this. Bike is a 1150gsa.

To make it clearer for the others, are they BM bars or somebody elses?

Yep, BMW ADV bars. Not necessary to remove then?

And speaking as someone who doesn't have Steptoe's skills, I've managed to do a valve adjustment on my ADV with the bars still on. Actually quite handy for resting your hand against while having a quick feel, so to speak, for that consistency of touch recommended by the septices in their guide.
