Just changed from GS and trying to take off the painted centre tank panel. GSA fitted with keyless ignition. GS panel came straight off over the petrol cap. GSA doesn't. Any advice welcomed on what the method is to achieve this?

Don't know if the keyless ride makes a difference but I'm sure you need to undo/partially remove the filler cap assembly to get the centre panel off - at least that's what they did at Rainbow to get the centre panel off my bike.

The difficulty I am having is trying to separate those two. I have taken all the bolts out of the filler. There are pipes and possibly wires for the filler cap connected to the filler under the panel that prevents the whole lot just being lifted off. Because of that there is limited clearance to access underneath. I cannot get the panel over the top as there is a lip under the filler cap at the back that the GS didn't have.

GS was a breeze in comparison tho have to say I wouldn't swap back.

Had another go and hoping now it's just a really tight overflow pipe that needs to be removed. It's a brand new 2016 bike and not wanting to balls it up.

I seem to remember the technician at Rainbow doing a fair bit of jiggling around to get the panel off, so it sounds like you're on the right track :)

Unless different than 2015 GSA.

undo three bolts at front, two at back and 2 from memory in the cubby hole.

Then carefully jiggle/lever off - it clips onto the tank filler - not bolts need moving on the filler cap (unless its all change in 2016)

It tells you exactly what to do in the manual/service book. Look under air filter :thumb2
