Hi, ive been hearing that is a good idea to remove the cat, is this easily done, if so were would i find it  my 1200 GS is 05 if that makes a difference.
Cheers

Its in the headers, so you just buy some replacement Remus headers.

Thanks for that im looking at getting a remus can anyway, just need to save a tad longer!!

Get the can first and at least you can enjoy the noise whilst saving for the headers. :)

Thats prob the best idea, can get to carried away on buying stuff for the GS as theres so much out there!!! Also ive heard talk of a wunderlich power controller, is it worth having?

Why waste your time buying new headers when you can cut the cat out and then weld up the zorst again and job done, and if you can weld you get minimal discolouration to the chrome and the benifits are fantastic.

Please dont hesitate to get in touch if you would like to know more or if you live close I could even do it for you.

Thanks for that mark, il might take you up on the offer, is it a big job? im really not mechanical minded so havn't got a clue!!

Mark,

This may be a stupid question, but what are the benefits? Other than being able to run leaded or lead-replacement type fuels, I can't see what difference it would make.... possibly a kw or two more?

Also, isin't there a sensor of sorts in the cat that 'talks' to the ECU? Do you just take the sensor out? ... won't that confuse the ECU?

Dale

The sensors are in the pipe before the cat, they don`t know if there`s one there or not!
