Just returned from a 2 week 3000 mile trip around the Picos - mates R1250GS Remus 8 exhaust literally fell apart on route as per the pics. Anyone else suffered this?

yes I have had it before, just replaced the rivets

I think it's a bit more complicated than that. Looking at the lower of the surviving rivets the exhaust strap has definitely fractured. Then there's a scratch or a further fracture extending into the body of the silencer; also maybe some abrasion on the carbon cone. So there's been some degree of impact to cause this to "fall apart". Generally, the rider will notice things like that happening.

I'd say this Remus is done. It's starting to look like a 2 year old Termignoni

The retaining strap “crack” won’t migrate any further, it’s gone from the edge to the middle of the hole. I would just repair with a couple of suitable diameter decent pops to retain the strap.

I'm inclined to say it's done also - looking at pic2 the body is also cracking. Said to my mate at the time not to leave it. Result is this after 2/3 wks &
3000 extra miles. Guess twins are fairly brutal on exhaust systems, not sure if having taken the baffles out made any difference or not though.
