I'm looking to add a bit of sound (not too much) but don't at all want to upset the fuel injection.

I reckon Remus seems a good option (and my local dealer sells them) but don't know which one to go for.

Any suggestions would be much apprecited.

I bought both my can and y piece second hand .

It makes one hell of a difference ... it seems smoother and pulls better through the range, esp two up.

And the Remus Titanium was 130 GBP off e-bay

I had a remus Ti and y piece on my (now ex) GS Adv and true be told the noise it made was very very wearing on long trips (late night hack from the Toon to Portsmouth being one less memorable one) so whilst it did "improve" the feel of the engine I'm not sure the overall cost was worth it. PS mine had the quiet baffle in and I'd sealed the Y piece well...

I still have a remus Y peice and Genesis ally race can for sale... £200.

I used them for 2 years and it sounded great..not too loud but satisfyingly fruity. I put the standard can back on with the Y peice as an experiment and noticed a distict lack of power at the bottom end. When I sold the bike I put the standard can and cat back on and noticed the mid range suffered as well.

Forgive my ignorance but by getting a Y piece does that mean that i dump the cat?
If so how does it effect the fuelling and also the guarantee - the reasin is i bought it from a dealer who is notoriously fussy and probably wouldnt approve of any mods.

I still want to do it though and want to make a bit of noise - i wear ear plugs anyway so i can handle it.

Yes, the Y piece replaces the cat.
It does not effect the fuelling, ignition or anything else except to make it a bit feerer running. There is a slot for the Lambda sensor.
I've not heard of any warranty probs as it is a very common mod often supplied by those dealers.

Thanks Hedgehog,

I'll see the dealer tomorrow and see what's on offer.

Ta BTBR,

There's loads to read up on - I think i'm a bit deaf anyway so it shouldn't matter too much.

Wouldn't want to melp a pannier so i think i'll get my tin foil out!

Just checked Italian site prices for Remus.

It looks like there is the possibility to only add on the end can - as the Y pipe is nearly the same price again could i get away with end can only or really is it worth spending the double for a power gain?

Help

Went to the Remus dealer and have ordered a Y piece plus a Revolution can - I can then take out the inner sleeve to make a bit of noise. Had originally asked for the Genesis can but as it's not Homologated you are instantly fined and the Carabineiri take your documents off you as well - the dealer called the sales rep for remus who recommended taking a Revolution (which is stamped Road Use) and then gettign round it by taking out the inner sleeve. Hope this gives me what I'm looking for i.e bit of noise with a bit more go but without spoling the smooth fuelling.
If anyone had tried this combo I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Remus Update

Done it!

Can & Y piece on and it sounds and goes the business! I'm well pleased - there are no fuelling probs and it definitely revs more freely - I LOVE THE NOISE!

Thanks everyone for all the advice.
