I'm planning on buying a pair of OE panniers for my 1200 and I've got a titanium Remus Revolution fitted. I remember reading that the new panniers have a heat shield on the left one. Does anyone know if this is sufficient, or do I need to buy and extension for the Remus can? If so, recommendations on where to source one.

TIA

I can say that Remus Revolution, bung out, + OE panniers are OK.....no melted panniers, the heatshield does the job.

Not so sure if you've got the headers as well (i.e. no cat).

No Remus headers yet, still on the OE pipes. How does the Remus sound with the bung out....? Mine sounds pretty loud with it in...!

At the moment I'm thinking I might get the Remus headers when a Power Commander is available. Then I can get it dynoed and properly mapped. I'm planning on dropping into San Jose BMW in July to pick their brains about it since I believe that they've been doing the R&D with K&N.

Personally I think they sound great, don't like having the bung in now.

Its loud at all when the engine's not under load. Blip the throttle or put the engine under load from low rpms and the sound is fantastic.

Give it a go, you can always bolt it back in again if you don't like it.
