Hi all. I'm thinking of getting the REMUS revolution can for my baby. Has anyone fitted one and if so I have the following Qs:

1. How much did you get it for and where?

2. Was it easy to fit?

3. Do you need to modify the ECU in any way?

4. Would you advise against getting one at all?

Many thanks.

Just got back from Romania and find I've flattened one of my downpipes... even the 'A' roads have huge rocks, ridges and potholes (top GS country). BMW wanted close to £700 for a replacement... just the excuse I was looking for.
Nippy Normans, £549, complete stainless steel/titanium system. Fitted it yesterday, no problems and it seems great... the bike is a lot smoother (freer) running, picks-up a lot quicker and runs-on easier..especially at low speeds, it's almost eliminated the 'snatchiness'... sounds better too! Time will tell if it's more/less economical, leaner etc. I know I've read somewhere about lean running problems, but it's too soon for me to comment.
Asked my BMW dealer if it would affect the warranty, answer was "We won't tell them if you don't!".
Go for it.

Just a scratch!

It would have polished out?

Ouch !!! Thats some ding on those pipes mate.

Lee, mine came with a 'Scorpion' Titanium aftermarket can (plus the original which feels like its made of cast-iron). Mine has done 19k and is smooth and free revving. I just got my Yamaha dyno'd last week and will be getting the BMW done soon. The baffle in the Scorpion has a tack-welded mesh in the end which doesn't stop much noise emanating but impedes gas flow. Funnily enough, my welds didn't last, know what I mean. :thumb

Mark (blue 1200) has the Remus titanium can on his and the fit and finish are way better than my Scorpion. If I was fitting one myself, it would have to be Remus Titanium, they are almost the 'uniform' a GS should wear.

I think Nippy Normans does the best deal on them, but search the web just in case a better deal arises.

:) Thanks for that chaps. I found the alloy Revolution can for £201 from James Shurlock BMW on www.devonbmw.co.uk

It's looking as though that may be the way ahead though work committments mean that I'll be away for a month or two shortly so it may have to be an Xmas present to myself.

Nasty ding in that downpipe!

My 1200 had a Remus Revolution can fitted when i bought it.

I had the Full Remus system on my old 1150GS which was a vast improvement over standard

However, i thought id stick the original can back on for an 800 mile trip last weekend.

I've gotta say that IMHO the bike runs better with the standard can fitted, its smoother, more responsive and sounds just as good.

I'll give the Remus can another try though...maybe I also need the ‘Y’ piece as well to make a difference.
