I got them to remove the cat to stop it getting damaged by leaded petrol. But having ridden with them for a week now I wouldnt go back.

I got them done at the same time as the latest software patch which according to the release notes (posted here) affect the rideability considerably. But something has made a big difference to the amount of oomph especially in the 2-5k range.

But the main thing is the sound. It's really fantastic.

1. Yes, although read a report quoting a dealer who said no.

2. £285

3. Not chromed they are polished stainless steel.

Had a set on the bike since I got it with different cans including the stock and can highly recommend ditching the cat. :thumb

Leaded petrol!!! ???????????

I'm leaving Saturday, riding to Nepal via Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, India. Almost no unleaded fuel past Tehran.

They fit the Adventure, no problem.

Are SS - had mine ceramic coated :)

Excellent setup combined with Remus Genesis endcan :D

Just out of interest, what does ceramic coating look like i.e. is it clear/coloured/choice of colours?

Cheers

We're shipping it back.

I thought about the 1150 but I really love the lower weight and decided that the perceived reliability difference, even if real, was a price worth paying.

We'll see :)

Keep us informed, and have a great time, we lived near the Nepal boarder for 2 years and loved it the people are great and loads of English spoken so not so hard to get info etc, By the time you get there it will be a bit chilly even in North India and Pakistan, Are you traveling 2 up or 2 bikes?

They can do colours and a clear coat, I believe. Also metalics - I have cermakrome...which is as near a chrome finish as you will get and looks good.
If it dulls slightly you just give it a polish with Autosol or similar and is very quickly and easily bright again.

Two bikes, both R12GSs. It's surprising how different they are.

You're quite right about the cold. Gebring heated jacket liners - check.
