hi i heard some where that vario panniers will not work with a remus, i have bought the exhaust and have to get panniers soon. i am torn between civils or bmw vario but as i will only use the side panniers for 3 weeks of the year i like the idea of being them being easly removed. any advice welcome guys.

Varios work fine with a Remus.

Sorry to but in on your thread but another Remus question....

Will the Remus front pipes fit ok with H&B engine bars?

Anyone know? :nenau

IMVHO....

Had beemer plastic ones - leaked, daft opening & broke fast :(
Had TT ones great but never did like the locks (did change them to stainless steel ones with a reinforced plate but they still depend on that 'loop over ali lip- which a screwdriver can pop open) or the mounting/locking mechanism. Too much hassle getting on and off and back ache! :)
Introduced to Metal Mule.....woof woof !! :thumb :D :D :D
(have remus revolution) never looked back

Must agree, having looked around for a while now I am really not happy with the flimsy looking latch type locks - a screw driver under it and its off.

Going down to take a look at Metal Mules as the quick release will be useful and the locks look quite robust!!

Fitted Remus front pipes 2 weekends ago. Fitted just fine didn't even have to loosen the bars. And what a difference they made.

Not sure if it was a Remus in the TT catalogue, but it said you had to order an end pipe if the exhaust was to be fitted with the Vario panniers.

just got the TT book and it does say order an extension for remus can if used with standard vario panniers but i could not find the extension in the book even though it gave a part number but can not see why it would be necessary and going by replies i got already some are using remus can and varios with no bother at all
(am i right saying this) :banghead:

You are quite right. There is no problem. 20k miles on mine.
