Remus exhaust and System Panniers

A picture would be helpful and appreciated. I'm fairly certain that the exhaust wasn't pointing directly at the pannier during my last melting incident though.

As promised, here are a few pictures of what mine looks like. Just as a thought, I think there are two versions of the remus revolution exhaust one with a short straight inlet pipe and the other with an angle in it like the picture. I think (from memory) they were aimed at the GS and GSA respectively but not sure what difference this makes if any.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the pic. That does help - your exhaust hanger is different to mine and holds the can further away from the pannier.

I have a plan of attack for mine - thanks for the links. Remus extension, HD heat shield and spacers. I'll post details when complete.

My Y-piece was a Sebring one (IIRC). These things are typically churned out with variable manufacturing tolerances and the angle the pipe ends up on when fitted to your bike is probably fairly random. I happened to have one which pointed the pipe slightly outward...

That's the 1150GSA Remus, as you described

Pretty rare as most of us have the R1150GS Remus, which sits higher up and nearer the pannier like in my pics
