I have a Remus exhaust for the xchallenge but the baffles have been messed about with to the point it doesnt seem to run as it should.

Does anyone have a Remus that they could take the baffle out and take a picture so I can see what they should look like from standard.

Cheers

What do you think of the Remus?
An improvement over standard and if so where?

Remus or standard with cat or standard without cat? What's best and why?

I think the Freeride is too loud

I have a Remus Ti, with Cat, which is about the same noise wise as the stock

However I'm convinced the bike is quicker (top speed) and has more mid-range torque with the standard can, with Cat

I now run with the standsrd set up

Only benefit with the Remus, is it's lighter

Make sure your bike has the last and latest software update - makes the bike faster, more torque and smoother

software update.

For this I gather it has to go into BMW for the update to be done?
Is there a cost for this or is it FOC?

It does, not every dealer can do it as they don't all keep the old computer system

Some will tell you it can't be done

Depends on your relationship with your dealer, whether they charge

They have to check the bike, to see what's running

I can recommend Rainbow BMW, they know what's involved and how to do it and will charge about £50-£60 to do it

Thanks JB I'll look into that although being a new owner of the BMW I don't really have much to do with any BMW dealers.

My local dealer is Sawbridgeworth BMW at Hertford.

I put the full remus system on. i don't think the can on it's own makes any difference- i did try a scorpion can a few years back, and all that did was make to much noise and if anything reduced the mid range of the bike.

The conclusion from this is that the remus header (which is bigger) improves things- certainly when the engine is pulling through the higher revs.

I think the unifilter air filter kit that i have fitted also helps with the breathing.

I'm in the process of removing the remus can and replacing the standard de-catted can and seeing what the results are like, as i'm starting to get pissed off with the noise from the remus can.

I ran the original decatted can (with OEM header) with standard and unifilter air filters, and didn't notice much difference, apart from induction noise :D.

I think once i've found a happy medium i'll look around and see if the ecu can be remapped to suit the induction and exhaust changes.

PM your email across and i'll send you the photo's of the baffle. for some reason i can't access my photobucket account.
