what difference will it make to my bike is i have a remus can fitted? apart from it looks nicer than the stock exhaust.....;)

Remus end can

Wont make any noticable difference in performance.
Bike may pop a bit on the overun.
Sounds throatier, but sound can be a bit tiresome after a while, or on a long trip.
This all imo of course.

I had one on my 1150GS but wont bother on this 1200.

For me it has transformed my bike 12GSA, with Remus headers and Ti Revolution can with baffle removed..:bounce1

The flat spot has gone, it has given it extra Ooopmh and 'feels' faster...

No Dyno to back this up but I'm sure it must have added at least 5 bhp...

As far as noise to you is concerned...I wear ear plugs all the time as the wind noise is far greater than the exhaust...if you are touring it's more than acceptable for me anyway....besides I listen to music on a long trip...

The noise is greater if you follow someone with the set up. I hardly notice riding on a long run, only if I open up on acceleration or like has been said on the trailing throttle (over run)...then the popping starts which I love and is addictive...but then I'm just a big boy really...

Best to take out a demo with the set up and make your own mind up as this is very subjective.........

cos my bike sounds like a tractor i aways wear ear plugs......well i've ordered a black can from southport superbikes, pick it up friday i think........when i'm a bit flusher i will have the headers.....:)

As the capt'n says..........get the full system to get rid of the flatspot. You'd never know you've got a noisy system on, only when 'pressing on'.

Just changing the end can does sod all, apart from a bit more noise + looks, which is a legitimate reason for fitting anyway :thumb2

Janie seriously do it the other way round, headers first with the stock can and then add the end can if you want.

Ditching the cat makes a far bigger difference than changing the can and the stock can will sound "fruitier" as well. :augie

What flat spot?

Errr... What flat spot? Mines as smooth a babies bum (like me!!;)) all the way
through the rev range.
Its a personal thing, this Remus zorst. Personally Id rather spend my ackers
on ferry tickets and continental B&Bs.
Anyroad up Id have gone for the Titanium Revelution. pop, pop, bang!! hee hee.
Katoom Adv' 990 sounds nice though with twin Achros'.
On me third GS, so maybe next time.... dont tell TJ at Baldo's BMW tho':thumb2

What flat spot?
The big one at 5000rpm. Of course, dyno charts are at full throttle...............

Try riding twos up in 6th and open the throttle fully at 4000rpm to feel the oncoming flat spot! Its VERY noticeable. I thought something ws wrong at first.

GS Monkey, I am buying the remus header too, which can would you reccomend?:)

I fancy the carbon revolution silencer anyone got a pic?

£531 ive seen them for http://www.calsport.co.uk/calsport.nsf/BrandCat?OpenForm&cat=Remus>Exhaust>>BMW>>>R+1200+GS+(04>)

Is this a very good price?

I don't think the choice of can matters too much, its the headers that smooth the curve. I've got a Ti Remus Revolution, which sounds great without the baffle. The carbon can may sound even nicer, as they often do. Don't skimp on cash and go for the alloy, they're a pain in the ass to keep clean.

You may need to do something with the numberplate - mine melted within 200miles of putting the headers on :D:D. I've just put a bit of ali sheet behind the (now slightly smaller) plate to see if that cures things.

When I asked Jim at Southport - he didnt rate the remus cans and recommended the laser cans?

I'm with Thunder...........if price is a problem..........headers first.....can after...smooths everything out.....removes the harshness between 2&3 thousand and after 4 thousand...........and improves consumption by 6-7 miles a gallon. Best mod for a GS after 50watt HIDS!
