Hi

Does any one know if the remus titanium full exhaust system is road legal?

The answer to that might not be quite as straightforward as you'd wish it to be. Since the Remus Revolution exhaust can carries the appropriate EU stamp it would appear to be road legal. However, a recent change in the MOT testing regulations might lead that into question. OTOH, you can probably find a helpful MOT tester.

I've got just the can fitted. Every time I crack the throttle I wonder how the hell it can be road legal. I got pulled over by a couple of coppers doing roadside checks recently and they seemed happy enough that the can was stamped.

Does that answer the question......

good enough for me. Also shouldn't cause a problem on the old insurance:D

Where's the stamp?

B*ggered if I can see it.

End can gets even louder with the remus headers fitted.

Still for the MOT it's a 5 min job to put the original can back on.

My titanium Remus Revolution is stamped on the end cap of the can just under the exhaust outlet.

Yes I'm sure it does since you're removing the cat' from the exhaust system.

For the MOT just pop the removable baffle back jobs a goodun.

Also sounds great.

I've been using my local dealers demo bike for the last week, while my GS was in getting some warranty work done on it. The demo bike was fitted with a "full" Remus system. (Headers and "silencer")

Whilst I enjoyed the sound to begin with, I found that it was quite annoying after a couple of long trips (Edinburgh to Aberdeen). The noise was that intrusive that my ears were "ringing" for a good half hour after getting off the bike.

IMHO the Remus system looks better than standard, and made the bike feel as if it was reving more freely. However I don't think that it made the bike any quicker.

The dyno charts that I've seen indicate that the full Remus system liberates and extra 8 bhp, Keith. That should certain be discernable via the seat-of-the-pants dyno.

Was this Clark's demo bike you had? We should consult about your warranty work......

Was that with the baffle in or out?

Thanks for that Schtum, I'll check there.

I'd agree with the seat of the pants dyno that there's some more bhp liberated.

Given the noise level I would think that the baffle was out. However I'll double check next time I'm up in Dundee. (or maybe the "Highwayman" can tell us if he's reading this....)
