Ive spent today fitting my Remus headers of my 08GS onto my 09GSA and for some reason they dont fit the same on both bikes.
I fitted them onto the GS in about 40 mins on my own, but had a mate here today to help as we were fitting a new chain to his speed triple, anyway, would they go on properly.........no
. They went on but didnt line up right, eventually i called southsport superbikes from whom i brought them from and i was told they have had issues with them so put me through to the workshop. They were very helpful and told me that they are the same part numbers and one of there fitters tried for hours to get them on a 09GSA recently with no luck, eventually another fitter got them on. So after a cuppa i tried on my own and got them to fit to what i class as exceptable (fussy git )
The problem is that if you fit the long section of header and line it up with the centre bracket the second small header will not attach and it pushed the end can in towards the number plate. With the use of some spacers it attaches correctly to the cylinders and the can is straight but the centre bolt still does not line up square, but there are no leaks and all seems ok, its havin its first service on tuesday so im sure i will be told if its not 100% ok.
Just thought i would let anyone know who plans to fit them.
