Can anybody advise which engine crash bars fit with the Remus Headers on the 12GS. I hear that BMW and SW Motech don't fit, do the Hepco Becker bars fit?

... Factory bars fit. SW and H&B I believe do fit, but the positioning of the Lambda sensors is tight.

... Try the search facility, there are a few learned opinions to be found.

... (BTW SW Motech bars need to be removed for service, you'll also find lots of opinions on that too :rob)

Hi

Having just fitted five sets of 'Remus' header pipes to GS1200's and now having just fitted three of the same with Hepco & Becker crash bars, I can confirm that they fit just fine!:thumb

Hope that helps

Some advice, and a warning....

Wadhams and I decided to head off for the trails of the pyrenees this year, due to leave 12th June, and so I set about purchasing a set of engine bars.

After reading the various threads on this site as to which bars to fit to my '06 GS with Remus headers, I decided on the SW Motech bars. It was here the problems started.

I ordered them in April from Get Geared - Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Long story short, Friday 6th June arrived and I had no bars; I have had to chase them all along, only to find out they were not going to supply the correct item.

SW Motech have changed the design to accomodate all GS models from 04 - 08, and the new design will NOT fit with Remus headers. I found this out when trying to fit them. They do not have stock of the original design.

So, a panic call to Motorworks Friday (I should have used them in the first place) saw the arrival of a set of Hepco and Becker bars yesterday. 45 minutes in the garage last night and I am now ready to go.

The moral here -

1) Buy Hepco and Becker if you have Remus headers

2) Stick with who you know are good (Motorworks) instead of trying to save £20 with an unknown entity (Get Geared)....
