just got a quote from a BMW main dealer to supply, fit and remap the ecu for a price of £460. I already have an Akro can fitted.

If anyone has had these fitted does this represent reasonable VFM ? And also is the increase in performance worth the investment ?

Cheers

You will be the only person in the civilised world to have an ECU remap because you fitted Remus headers.

Buy a secondhand set for £150, they look 2nd hand after 2 or 3 hours use anyway due to the stainless discolouration. Fit them yourself. it's a very easy job, there are loads of walk throughs available to help you.

I have de cat headers fitted, they make a huge difference. I do have the Wunderlich FC fitted, but this is mainly because I have a k&N filter too. There is loads of write ups that say a set of de cat headers and a pipe make a huge improvement. I think for the dealer to say you need a remap is scandalous.

Your dealer is trying to stiff you for a re-map.

I had Remus headers and an Akro fitted on my GS by a dealer as part of a sale negotition and it made a worthwhile difference, no re -map was required ECU takes care of it all by itself......

The dealer is playing it safe by re-mapping as there really is no need.

Basically, de catted headers give a noticeable boost in low down power and torque.

Fit them yourself as it's an hour max or buy a set of Keihans and I'll fit them FOC :thumb Actually I lie, I work for tea and biscuits:augie

Remap definitely not necessary, find some used headers, pop round here and we'll fit 'em ............simples
