Reliving bike trips whilst sat at my desk....
Dear All,

Last year I bought my Dad a Remus Revo' can for Xmas for his R1150R! This also fits GS's according to the catalogue, and he' since gone for a RT so, you guessed it, I now have a Remus can at my disposal: what to do, what to do...?

It will soon go on, but I noticed that once in place on my Dad's bike, it was no where near as throaty as I'd hoped the big twin would be: enter cat converter stage right...

So I would like to fit the can, preferrably with a Y piece sports collector in place of the cat. I also want to spend as little as possible, so no expesive dyno work if possible. Is this a bad idea? Is it a false economy? Does the bike run badly if not re-mapped, or worse still will it run lean to the point of burning valve seats :spitfire or holing pistons? I don't want to loose my warranty let alone my engine!

Personaly I would leave it standard, I had only the Remus "y" piece on mine and it ran rough, felt rough and did not feel much quicker, it also backfired for a past time :( sounded nice though :D
I have put the cat back on, sold the "y" and don't worry about fueling issues, code plugs etc etc :thumb

Thanks for your response 'Meister: you represent 100% of the replies!

Either way, I think you've just saved me £200 as I think I'll just stick the Remus can on by itself and settle for a slightly deeper burble, rather thean making my bike a pig to ride. That way I'll a mint end can for any PX in the future!
