Hello folks,

I stopped for fuel on Sunday on a trip to Holyhead . I had music on and when I stopped realised the bike sounded like a bag of spanners ! :spitfire

By the time I got home the hole was the size of a paperback book .

I found a pretty bad split / tear appearing in my Remus Titanuim can and after attempting a desperate zip tie repair went back home and fitted the oe can.

Is it possible to replace the outer sleave and the baffle material ?? Can they be bought ?? :nenau

The BMW can sounds pethetic , what am I gonna do without the tunnel reving granny scaring malarky of the remus at full bore !

Pics to big to post , see here .. http://ukgser.blogspot.com/

Any ideas please,

Cheers ,

In technical terms I'd say its fcuked. The problem AISI is that you're trying to repair a high stress area. Probably a lot cheaper / easier to get a second-hand one and fit it in its place. Fleabay / here seems to have a few.

If you don't have the cat replacement y-piece, that might be a better idea to fit the y-piece and the oem bm can.

I rang the importers about the split in mine, they may well replace it apparently but judge every case individually. Mine was so old it was not on the system so that was a non starter!

I will PM you the contact I have.
