I've just fitted a full Remus system to my 1200 which seems to be causing the bike to vibrate uncomfortably through the bars and pegs. I have loosened everything off to ensure there's no tension anywhere and retightened to no avail. I used the bike for work today to avoid the holiday rush and by the time I got there I had numb fingers - not good! I'm off to the Highlands tomorrow and can't face the 250 motorway miles to Glasgow with these vibes so the questions are:

1. Is this normal after fitting a Remus system?
2. Is it likely to be the downpipes or can causing the problem?

I've not got much time for trial and error so I'm hoping you guys will be able to help.

Thanks
Dave

I have full Remus.

If anything the engine was smoother after fitting.

Maybe the engine needs balancing anyway and the Remus has made it feel worse. Mine was rough when I bought it from dealer in standard condition and they balanced the throttle bodies I think. Made it much smoother. (Not an expert)

:)

Just been in for service and it came back smoother than it went in so not sure that's it but thanks. This was before the Remus was fitted. My 1150 lost vibes when I fitted a Remus to that????

Certainly adding just a Remus can to my 12GS made the vibrations through the bars more intense. Not really a problem, I was too busy grinning from the noise (sans baffle)

Done 1000 miles over the weekend, the bike has now done 2600, and the vibes are calming down :)

Now done 7100 miles and it's as smooth a silk... a slight exaggeration but it has certainly smoothed out.

I put an Arrow full system on my GS12. It certainly vibrated a bit more, but I love it as it's caused by a higher specific output! :D :bounce1
It made me realise how the cat choked it off. So free revving now that I kept looking for 7th. Nice! :thumb
Don't worry, it means it's working (probably). :)

Fatboy,

Where did you get the full Arrow system from? According to their website, they only make the silncer for the 1200.

who does the front bit of the exhaust so i can lose the cat........? the y bit is it?

I bought it from a kid in Italy. The right pipe sweeps over the front, a la the R850. Works a treat.
I noted that no pipe was available too, so assumed it to be a special, as I says Arrow special parts on it(on the end can).
Very well made though, and very effective.:thumb
