I installed the Remus Y-piece and had the bike Dynoed.I have also installed the K&N flter.
We noticed two things. With OEM Exhaust System: 94 Bhp
With Remus Ypiece and Original Exhaust can: 93 Bhp.
The power delivery was not so smooth and the mixture was quite LEAN..... After three Dyno runs we took it off.

Has anyone Dynoed the bike with and without to check for differences?

ippokratis,

Did you do a dyno test with the remus silencer only?

From other tests done on aftermarket systems i can't see the point of ditching the cat, as only one or two systems produce a small power gain (and most a small power loss). Also it seems to make a lean running system even more so. Change of silencer is what im considering for aesthetic appearances only. :)

I've noticed in a lot of dyno tests that the gains are minimal going with a full system. A good example is the Two Bros dyno chart on their site. They have comparable gains to all others but the difference between the slip-on and the full system was, overall, less than 1 hp. The incremental gains I would think would be more significant but I doubt the butt meter would notice.

Have to say my 'butt meter' has noticed a significant difference after fitting a full Bos system. This may be down to the fact that the Y piece runs bigger diameter pipes to standard.

From my old Guzzi days I spent a lot of time and money tuning a MkII Lemon I had and after much dyno work the only exhaust that we could find that made a significant difference was a Dr John prototype system running much bigger diameter headers.

My limited understanding of exhaust design says that the fatter you make the headers the better your top end is with some loss of low and midrange torque as the gas velocities at lower revs are reduced. However, my experiance of the Bos system is of a slightly smoother bottom end, a noticeably better midrange and a significantly improved top end which rather flies in the face of the above :nenau
