Remus Y Piece/Standard Can

Can you fit a Remus Y Piece to an 1150 and still use the standard can?
Is there any benefit to a Y Piece only or shold you go the whole hog and replace the can as well.

You'll find a thread on this... I run a Y and standard can. I use to run a Y with a Race can but found the performance better with the standard can.

I agree with Wreford on this. Having done the Remus race pipe thing on and off for 3 years. I have found the noise of a race pipe too much, although gorgeous. My bike at around 34 000 miles runs great with K&N, Y piece and standard can.
Or maybe in the last 3 year I have passed into the old fart stage of life. Not.

One small problem I had with Remus Y-piece and std can - where the can mounts onto the rear sub frame, the frame cracked, leaving the can dangling.......

fortunately this was as bought from the dealer so they put a Remus can on for half price.

They claim (but I'm not sure I believe it) that the remus Y piece doesn't offer as much support as the CAT - I think this is bollocks 'cos the remus y piece mounts under the engine in the same way as the cat does.

You will get better breathing with a remus road-legal pipe though as the std can is optimised to a cat.

I have, therefore, remus y piece and street legal remus road can and I lurve it.
