I would just go for the silencer for a bit more noise and better looks and save some cash by not getting for the downpipes. If you're paranoid about warranty you could then whip it off for servicing, etc
 
For anyone interested I priced an Akrapovic (Ti) from Performance Parts £768 inc vat. They will be available form May. Not sure how much from BMW.
 
and the BM Akro's got fancy stickers on:D nippy norman's doing the akro for £699, if that price from BMW is fitted with the update, ill go with that on first service might try and haggle the price down a bit;)
