My son, now that he has accumulated 4 year no claims has upgraded to an MX5 and so his first car / student run around is up for grabs. It was my wife’s car for several years and I think she was the second owner.
Now although he has 4 years no claims, it is a bit battered and bruised! It got side swiped whilst he was parked up in Newcastle, and on one of his early attempts at navigating through our relatively narrow gate, he knocked off a wing mirror - now replaced but never painted to match the rest of the car.
It’s on about 73,000 miles, has been serviced annually and passed its MOT in Jan.
It’s like a student dorm inside and out, but it’s been a great little car. Low insurance.
Bad points - aside from the obvious scuffs and scrapes, the aircon could do with a re-gas, the alloys are all scuffed.
It’s got sat nav, Bluetooth and that’s about it for creature comforts. From memory it’s the Dynamique Tomtom model, 1.6 petrol. It’s as slow as a slow thing but gets you there.
The car is currently at his mum’s in Matlock (he’s in Sheffield).
He’s after a grand but I think £900 is more realistic (nice ones fetch £1200-2900 and although this is a low miles car, it’s far from a cosmetically nice one.
He’s promised me better photos and that he’ll clean it inside and out but he’s a student so I’m not holding my breath.
