There's a place near me that does Zircotec (SP?) ceramic coatings on turbos, downpipes and 'zorsts, and I really fancy my downpipes and stubby in matt black
Like you say jb each to they're own.I have a gleaming busa in the my garage and sat next to it is my trusty 1100gs covered in 12mnths worth of road shit and that's the way it will stay.I believe some bikes are built to gleam and the GS is,nt one of them.

You're right......and I didn't revive this thread because I want mine to gleam.......but ceramic 'zorst coating seems to offer a really good and fairly cost effective way of keeping a hard used bike that's ridden all year around in good shape with fairly minimal polishing duties to be carried out.
I've only ever sat and polished a bike with autosolve then Mer or whatever a couple of times, and it's REALLY not for me.
That said, if I can get headers to last 10 years with a ceramic coating and still look good from only a soapy tit wank session every month or two, it sounds like a win-win situation to me
