Hello fellow GS:ers, me and a couple of friend are in the planningstage of a week of motorcycling in Scotland for 2012, and since we are from the north part of Sweden and have driven through Sweden several times we are looking at the option to fly to Edinburgh and rent some bikes there. This way it would save us 4-5 days of our vacations on the road and on ferries, and around 3000km pure transport on the bikes.
I have found a couple of places that rents out bikes, both BMW:s from Motorrad Central, and Honda/suzuki/kawasaki from Saltire Suzuki &co, but perhaps anyone have some other suggestion or would like to advise against some of the rentalplaces.
We prefer bikes one can sit on, most preferrably dualsporters with luggage since that is our drug of choise at home, but midsized tourers like the deauville 700 would also be a possibility.
We have planned to spend most of the week in the Highlands, with Isle of Skye as the only determined goal. I will spend some hours reading up on the suggested roads on this forum, so perhaps there will be more questions later on, but I start off with the rentalsituation
