Having purchased a lovely 1150 GS , ( previously ranted about )
I noted that the bars were bent and left hand heated grip was damaged
I there fore kind of thought! imagine etc.!
that seeing as some GSsss have a renthal pad that they had renthal bars!

OOPS says I ,:nenau
I purchased in Norn Iron, and returned home and proceeded to remove and fit etc.
Now my question is has any one done this and got it to work ?,
Coz surprise surprise I cant!
no end nut for weights to screw in ?
not as wide so cross bar had to go ! and could not put grips on all the way
look forward to any assistance

if you do a forum search for Renthal there are loads of post on the subject but you will be in for some moding as far as I can see good luck

I had Renthals on my 1100, and very nice they were too. Were on there when I got it though, so none the wiser about which model. Had a bolt-on type cross-brace though, rather than a welded one.

you will need a new set of bar ends, the expanding rubber ones will do the job, they expand as you tighten. get the heaviest ones you can to damp any vibration too.

renthal bar(i prefer saloons)

Have a look on the adventure riders site some of their stickies cover these.

I've had Renthalls on an11 and 1150. There is little or no problem that i remember. Tobers, I think it was, came up with a good idea about the bar-end weights, he used an expanding rawplug of the right dia.
There has been loads on this subject, it would pay you well to read it all up.
