REOC International Rally @ Baskerville Hall

Yep, I’ll be there on my 74 plate Himy 450 (Kaza brown with tubeless wheels) with a contingent from the South Midlands RE owners club. Looks to be a great event with numerous ride outs, trail/off road sections as well as road tests on the RE range and old vintage models, plus an autojumble. Baskerville Hall has a restaurant, a pool and a sauna. Way beyond a typical rally! All in great Welsh countryside.

Sounds like a nice event but I don't have an RE. Would a "classic" DR650 be allowed in?

How does the Hall look now? Not been there for a few years but at those times was very rundown. I'll s a lovely venue though for sure.

Back yesterday, on the whole a good event, though everything closed down Sunday morning whereas it was billed as through Sunday, but that was fine, had a wander through Hay which I'd not done before.

Baskerville Hall is now looking very, very tired and the outdoor 'camper facilities are really dire. Back in the day campers could use the indoor facilities, but seemingly no longer, with the exception of the bar at £6 a pint. Not sure it's worth a return visit, but there aren't many places which can accommodate that many campers, @ 200 plus rooms, restaurant and bar. By all accounts the food was still very good.

Came back via the Golden Valley B roads to Chepstow and the bridge, not been that way for years, great little road with a handful of vehicles the whole journey

Hi Mike, sorry, missed your post, it was REOC only event and don't think there were any other campers
I guessed as much, it got me looking at local Enfields for sale though.

How was the event?

Did the Saturday Night Special Disco take place 🕺

Horizons Unlimited hosted a couple of weekends there about 8-10 years ago. It was looking a bit sad then ! Great weekends though with talks from Nathan the Postman our very own Tim Cullis off here and standout speaker Austin Vince slagging off Turatw..t as he called it. Plus Lois Price, his missus talking about her book
