Hope this link will give some tips for refinishing / painting your timing chest, I,m quite pleased with the result, and hope it will prove more "durable" than BMW`s effort,
I considerderd getting BMW to fix this under warenty, but by all accounts its only a temporary fix as the paint soon falls off again, so I,m hoping this will last a bit longer..................time will tell
I also am fitting a fender extender to try and keep some of the crud off, and I recomend disgarding the Foam insert.
