Dropped the bike off the side stand yesterday. There are a few cracks on on one of the Hella FF50 spotlights, I'm just off out to get some superglue.

Any one got any better ideas?

May not work, but a tip I got from body repair specialist when I had to repair a crack in my plastic bumper was to use a soldering iron/or similar to 'melt/weld' the parts together. Worked a treat and far better than any glues I tried :thumb

Yeh, don't drop it next time.

i think that you may find super glue a little to brittle, might be better using somthing like araldite, but i'm not sure.

I know that there will be loads of others with lots of suggestions.

super glue seems to be holding it.

Wouldn't want to try a soldering iron on these, plasic's too thin, wrong type.

Might strengthen it later with "no more nails" internally.

from a Guzzi forum (so, that verifies the insanity level anyhow )

allegedly - you can melt Lego bricks (not duplo) with acetone (nail varnish remover) to a paste, use like filler / glue and when hardened sand down like you would, say - isopon.

i would go with the plastic welding matey. I do it quite alot. Its possible to weld even thin plastic back together with practice. Its a steep learning curve though! :)

plastic welding

i had a similar problem on the bodywork on my gs, i just googled plastic welders for my area, and found a chap who specialised in welding car bumpers, he did a first class job on the bike took him 10 mins of his tea break and only charged enough for a couple of pints. might be worth a try.

I admit, that plastex stuff is damn good. But only really if you have a small repair in mind. Mainly due to the cost of the stuff.
With what is broken on yours mate maybe this would be the way to go? And it doesnt involve learning any new skills or anything. Nice n easy.

May be your lucky day !!
