Slight accident t'other day. RH rocker cover damaged - hole in top right corner next to bolt. Oil pissed out. (photo doesn't show it even zoomed in)

Gonna get a new part from Germany but can I make a temporary repair and have the bit sent ahead to save me having to wait a week or more for it?

Mix some araldite with cotton wool. Fill the hole in and let it dry. That temporary fix wil last you for years :thumb

Thanks Steptoe - I'll get right to it.

We've got some "ColdMetal" too - is that any better?

Never tried it, but can't see why it shouldn't work. The cotton wool stops the araldite from "sinking" into large holes -
know the araldite works due to experience. Six years later the temporary repair was still working

Thanks Steptoe. Used araldite (or the German equivalent) and, as we didn't have any cotton wool, a tampon!

Worked a treat. Looks pretty solid.
