Replaced my fuel pump controller a couple of months back as the old one had failed.
Now today Ive had the beak off so thought i would pop some red rubber grease around the seal, it would appear my initial fix was a little heavy handed and i seem to have stripped the furthest forward hole, and the pretty aggressive self tapper now no longer touches the sides.
Advice on how to fill the hole please, Ive zero experience with plastic type repairs.

As always thanks in advance for the collective wisdom.

I think that'd work as hole is only say 2mm bigger than it was
Going to do a dry run on the inside of a biro with some milliput epoxy putty, if that works i will use it on the bike.. or if i need it temporary, some cable tie ends in the hole i think.

Bigger screw?

You could try some plastic padding in the hole, and form it round the screw before it sets

Have you tried a helicol insert?

Its a self taper...plastic padding is also a potential
Im sure the other screw alone would hold it, but what with it having a seal and water collecting id rather have it screwed down

Ideally, self tappers should be turn backwards until they click then you know the threads are aligned. Just whack it in and its likely to cut another thread which wont last long

I would Helicoil it and use an M4 or M5 screw. Probably do the other one while at it.

Yes I know its plastic.

Thanks guys
Ive managed to pop in a bigger screw, a non self tapper but it seems ok, had to enlarge the hole in the fpc a tad with some wet and dry

If it ever gets the tank off i may try the coil, but its only about 10mm deep... still ok for now fingers crossed
