I replaced my battery earlier today (1150GS). I did however connect the negative terminal first and while I was tightening the positive my spanner touch the engine block and there was a short  . I checked all the fuses and everything looked OK. The bike started first time. All the lights, horn, heated grips, abs, alarm were working OK. I rode up to my local garage to fill up with petrol and after riding away the bike cut out and would not restart.

Luckily the way back to work was downhill so I am now in a brightly lit workshop.

The engine turns over with vavavoom (Thanks to new battery) but does not run. I rechecked the fuses. I lifted the tank to see if I cut-off any fuel lines, all lights ect still work. When changing the battery I did not disconnected any fuel lines, I sat the tank on its right hand side. The bike is producing a spark.

Any ideas :nenau

have you got an alarm fitted? I have a data tool 2 fitted and this has a separate fuse which is right next to the alarm unit which BMW fits in front of the Abs lumps under the tank.

Hallo this is Maverick,

Just checked the bike and all fuses ok, fuel pump working fine, spark at the plugs, alarm seems to work fine. The bike turns over great but nothing, nada zilch in terms of starting.

Any more idea's?? :D

Well not even Maverick could get the thing running :tosser but thanks to him for coming to help :clap I owe him some

Lucky I'm not stuck in some desert on a LWR trip :eek Might have to swap the bike for a C90, less complicated.

I used the wife's 600 fazer today. Felt like a kiddies bike :P The wife is pregnant so has not used the bike for the last 6 months so it needs a good running in.

I guess it's another night crying into my pillow because my baby is broken. :tears

Might try the blow torch and angle grinder tomorrow......
