My 1200 front cover had NO corrosion up the middle - just where stone chips should be. It did have a horrible mess from the bottom belt cover screw and some timing covers crews were messy. A bike complete with crud catcher looked ok until we took the catcher off and found a huge scab from the infamous belt cover screw. It had always been sprayed with F365, but such coatings can't do much when the corrosion is protected by uber tough paint.
In both cases when the paint was dip stripped (Biostrip) there was extensive creeping corrosion under the paint. I strongly suspect it would have been better left bare metal. Certainly cold not have been worse.
