Help.

How much should I expect to pay for a replacement toolkit for the 1150? And apart from contacting BMW dealers or hoping on eBay, is there any other outlet that supplies a full kit at a reasonable price?

Pretty easy to put one together yourself chap. although you may have problems getting the bits to fit into the spaces in the toolkit holder thing. you could though get yourself one of the tooltube things on offer in the vendors section which will I guess allow you to add tools that simply wont fit into the toolbox regardless.

the basic tool set consists of - look here - http://www.xmission.com/~wendell/R1100GS/accessories.html

in addition to that a 7mm hex is very useful as is a torch and absolutely worth its weight in gold a 'Leatherman Wave' multitool.

BTW last time a full set appeared on Ebay it went for around £50 inc postage. and included some free rust.

you could try Motobins/motorworks and james sherlock. they may have various bits if not a full set from the bikes they break. worth a try.

I think I have an as 'brand new' BMW toolkit somewhere, but I am not sure if it is for an 1150 single or twin spark, it certainly is for pre-can bus as it has 4a- 15a fuses.:thumb2

Full and complete in the tool roll as the maker intended it to be. Obviously they would be a small charge and some postage! Let me know if you are interested.:augie
