Replacement Bolts/Fastening

I'm just in the process of putting my bike back on the road after 2 years of being tucked away in the back of the garage. Some of the bolts/fastenings are showing signs of some cocorrosion.What 's the best way to go about replacing these. Is it possible to buy complete kits or is it a matter of replacing individual items. Might I be right in thinking that if I get replacements from a main dealer i'm likely to get sh*fted in terms of price?

If you were a Site Sponsor,you could have got a Stainless Steel Fastener Kit from Steptoe at a very reasonable price.

But you`re not.

Motobins, amongst others, do the kits, they are more price wise, but all the ugly manufacturer's lettering has been removed, you get what you pay for!

Everyone gets told the same ( if they ask to buy them, rather than just ask questions), you have to PM me for a set.

I phoned on Monday afternoon ish, if I remember rightly. The only reason I posted was because you told me that you didn't have any bolt sets put together at the present time. I was posting to find out what my other options were. I'll happily buy from you Mr Steptoe, any idea when the sets might be ready?

Here,here i agree with Le singe £120 extra seems like a real bargain to not have those so noticeable stainless type stamp on them.

the reason it's cheap ( £8 less than mine) is that it's less than half of what you need for your bike ( unlike mine) .

I bought a kit from them, went to fit it, saw what it covered, and it prompted me to make my own kits.

i.e. not one engine bolt, i'm talking not one fixing/bolt for any for the front cover, alternator cover, footrest hangers, injector holders, inlet stubs, forks etc etc etc -

that can be stainless safely is in the kit. Not covered are brake and rotor,
engine mounts, suspension mounts etc..

So thats just about every fastner on the bike excluding the high tensile stuff, two sets for $100.00 including delivery, thats about £58.00 at todays rate.

Like I said, seems reasonable enough.

You'll find out when you get it I've had their kit, so i know.

not one single engine cover bolt for starters. oh and be careful with the fuel cap bolts, they were too long.
