Hi, my chain has been making some strange noises recently although it has been looked after by my scottoiler since new I think it has come to the end of its life (12,000 miles)

My BMW dealer is quoting £156 for a replacement chain and sprockets.

Can anyone recommend an alternative ?

My bike was not part of the chain recall :blast

thanks in advance

Tim

If you go down the self-fit option you will need a chain riveter. You could choose a chain with a split pin but this is your choice.

I did my girlfriends F650. Total cost for a chain (DID X ring) and riveter tool was about £110. Didn’t do the sprockets as the bike had only done 1500 and they looked like new. So £156 for both seems like a good price, but what quality chain will they put on... another chocolate one maybe...

Cheers :beerjug:

D.I.D IT!

Brand new bike, prior to collecting, had Ocean junk the BMW chain and fit the D.I.D X ring I had prepared earlier.Fitting gratis,as was the Scottoiler that they fitted for me at the same time.I know it seems a bit paranoid, but the peace of mind is worth every penny of the 100quid the chain set me back. ;)
