Hi all,
Recently purchased from Les one of his LED cluster pilot lamps, fitted it this morning to my Sept 09 GS.... works fine until you start the engine.

As the LED only draws milliamps (if not smaller amounts) The electrical system is thinking that the original bulb has failed & it putting up lamp failure on the multi function display.

Has anyone else had this problem ... may have to revert to a piece of spun wire in a vacuum.:eek

Regards

mine works fine to,

but i also had a lampf warning,if you look at the bulb on one side the wire that makes the connection is only 1 wire thick, make sure this is positioned so it makes contact with the connector, after i did this no furthur probs

It could just be down the sensitivity of a particular system, its no real issue just would have been nice to have.
Could play about with a resistor, but at the end of the day it's only a parking lamp.

Regards

I've a 2004 1200GS and had exactly the same problem. ignition on, light on, engine on, light off! Les is aware of this issue and is dealing very fairly with me.

Removed the LED this sarvo checked that everything was fitted & contacting correctly ... which is is. refitted & road tested ..... LAMPF

I will have to refit the blub..:(

Many thanks all for your input

The park lamp on my R12GS was replaced with a bright white LED too. The onboard diagnostics think that there is no current draw and mention 'LAMPF' on instrument cluster. But it works fine, so I don't care.
