Replacement of Poly-V Belt / 1150GS

Hi all,

Hoping to tap into collective UKGSer wisdom?
I see BM's maintenence schedule states that the Poly-V Belt should be replaced at 35K miles. My bike is around 28K milles, but am planning lengthy trip starting early spring .... likely to take my mileage up to 35K.ish miles.
Questions....

1. Would it be advisable to change belt prior to trip?
2. Anyone done the job? How difficult? special tools needed? Level of skill?

(Reluctant to line the pockets of my BMW dealer unless I absolutely have to!)

Easy job to do - worth doing before a long trip and then you can pack the old one onboard somewhere and keep it as a spare.

Change it now, and take the old one with you as a spare.
