My T max is making odd screeching noises like a slipping fan belt ,which i assume is the V Belt the big rubber band .I've looked everywhere on the net and theres nought about it.The belt is meant to have a life of 12000 miles, mines done 7000 miles admitedly hard miles stop start in traffic and used everyday with me a good 16and a half stone on board.it goes well but starts making a weird screeching whrr whrrr noise from 30mph up to 50mph,it was better after a run ,it started after the real thunderstorms last week but i cant think water got in there.I am asking here as this is the font of all knowledge and ever the maxi scoot forums have nothing. Its about to run out of warrenty and I am hoping for a new belt if needed .Anyone had a T Max anda belt on the way out:nenau thanks in advance:thumb2

I now understand if the bike gets a lot of town use there can be a build up of rubber dust in the Tranny casing cauasing the" squeel like a pig boy" So its booked for a tranny case clean and new belt:thumb2 Now I can sleep at night I have been sick with Worry:augie

You live in Brighton and you're admitting to being a Tranny? :augie

I like T-Max's me ................ I've got me eye on a MK1 with 40,000 miles on the clock :D

sounds to me like the variator rollers are dry as a nuns crack. If you have an impact gun undo nut holding the variator on and lube up :aidan the rollers. Having said that, inspect them before you lube em, if they have any flat edges there fooked and need to be replaced.

Make sure the variator gets put back together correctly and do it up f***** gorilla arms tight.

oh and they only need the slightest sprinkling of lube, dont clog up the variator with loads of it.

oh and i doubt youd get a belt under warranty unless they are feeling seriously kind. Variator belt is a wear item.

Get a malossi or polini one if they do one for the tmax *not sure*

infact, id get a malossi variator for it, the difference is astonishing... hellloooo faster scooter :D
