Im not sure if the radiator side covers are just a little bit too much silver on the Triple Black GSA, id prefer them black. Ive seen elsewhere owners have had them, dipped , repainted etc but i came across these. Anyone used them?

Ive never actually bought anything from Ali Express before.

You could try some matt black wrap material at home with a hair drier?

Probably because the result would be me a few quid out of pocket, a ball of wrap in the bin and the panel looking just the same as it did before i started.....or worse.

My 1250GSA had the side panels in matt black when I bought it. They have a couple of scratches on them now and look shit, I much prefer the look of the OE panels (which are just plastic mouldings with an alloy-effect hydrodipped finish.)

try plastidip - it's essentially a peel-able paint, and easy to remove if not to your liking.

This was my reason for considering the replacement parts, solid black plastic and I can always easily go back to the originals.

Those side panels and the seat frame look proper cheap and crappy in that nasty silver. I'm getting mine painted white to match my Trophy paint.
There's a recent thread somewhere where some guy got his seat frame painted for £80. Huge improvement.

I took a punt on a pair of black covers from AliExpress

I have to say I am really pleased with them , finish and fit is very good

Well worth the £50 delivered

Obviously plastic rather than the original aluminium ones but will no doubt do the job perfectly well and to get mine professionally refinished ie hydro dipped in carbon finish it cost £100 two years ago

I don't believe the originals are alumlimium , I think they are also plastic but painted a silver/aluminium colour

Happy to be corrected ....

Plastic on GSA. Metal on GS.

On my 2021 R1250GSA they were definitely polished and lacquered aluminium ( now hydro dipped)

My 2019 GSA side panels are definitely made from plastic with a hydro dipped aluminium decal for the finish, then overpainted Matt black by the previous owner. They have been touched up badly with an artists brush where scratched which pisses me off.

My 22 GSA are plastic and my mates 22 GS are metal.
I'll be getting mine painted white to match the paintwork. Also the seat frame as that looks nasty as well.

My 2022 Triple Black OEM silver covers are definitely made of plastic , they are clearly marked as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene - a common thermoplastic polymer)

The Alixpress ones are also marked as ABS

The fit is superb
