It is nearly time for a disc change to the rear near enough to having no rear brake :banghead: i think besides worn brake pads the disc is worn as it looks like the brake pistons are pushed out to the limit. Can any member recommend a good supplier.

And you question is ???

or are you looking for a few likes and happy smileys ??

Sorry couldnt resist ;) welcome to the forum BTw

I went for Brembo oro, to match the pads.

EBC are also worthwhile, too.

But, for good service and advice, one name springs to mind.

Steptoe.

Have looked on flea bay but seems that there are a few different brembo part numbers for a 07 gsa not looked at EBC yet. what is the right brembo part number i should look out for?

I went for the ferodo pads via Steptoe,

No problems so far, and shed loads cheaper than oem.

Would go for the rears too, but the website is broken at the moment :(

Depends when in 07, after august is an 08 model.

I got mine via motorworks., I've got a spare pair of Brembo oro front discs, but not a rear; otherwise I could give you number.

Contact Steptoe of this here parish.

Fwiw, service limit is normally marked on the disc. Might be 4.5mm for rear? Can check with micrometer.

In the past I have purchased Brembo discs much cheaper from Italian supplier on ebay. Quick delivery too. Doesn't look like the rear is that much cheaper than eg Motorworks though. Also worth checking it's the right part number, although I think it's the front brakes that changed 07-08 (am sure others know better than me though, so please correct me if wrong)

I had a pair of OEM organic pads worn to the metal in under 4000 miles. No kidding. They are NOT suitable for ABS bikes which really work the back brake.

The top grade Ferrodo organics have done at least double that and look less than 1/2 worn.

My front discs are below the official service limit. The MOT tester checks for cracks (as I do for time to time) and passes them. It will get new discs when the current set of pads are worn out.

Yeah Bendy toy is right about service limits on the front. Ran mine below with no negative effects on braking and no cracking or warping to discs. Perhaps on track discs would be more prone to warp? But never taken my GS on the track so I wouldn't know!
