The zip pull (i.e. the thing that you hold onto when operating the zip) has just failed on my Rukka cuff zip.:tears I'm currently using a paperclip which is OK, but I want something more permanent. Its still under warranty and will probably get it sorted in the summer.

I'm sure I've seen somewhere some replacement zip pulls but can't remember where. Any ideas??

A small diameter key-ring makes a good replacement.

Small O rings (like key rings) available from fishing tackle shops are the right size to fit as replacement zip pulls.

Split rings we used to call them. My Rukka jacket has two in place of the zip tags which parted company many miles ago - couldn't be arsed to return the jacket for something so simple.

Sounds like a key ring is the simple solution - I'll blag some branded ones at the motor show:)

Key rings are fine and easy to use with gloves

I found the standard zip pulls on my HG Cruise were badly designed (unlike the rest of the jacket) and replaced them with zip pulls I made my self from short lengths of black nylon chord. Just threaded the chord through the zip and then tied the two ends in a knot which is then easy to grasp with gloves on. A bit of heat at both ends of the nylon chord ensure the chord will not fray. I can even reach the rear ventilation zip in my cruise jacket with the modded zip pull.

Zip Pulls are also available at some outdoor shops plus here are some more

I've got a brass key ring on the zipper of my black leather jacket. The jacket is getting on a bit and the brass has developed a nice patina which befits it.

Musical zip pulls. How novel......:augie

I bought a couple from m&p (i think), it was basically a large high strength paperclip with a plastic 'snap' close toggle, look ok, work well & only a couple of quid a pair

On an old jacket I used a cable zip tie as a temporary replacement...........4 years later!

Stainless steel link swivels from a fishing tackle shop, the link makes it easy to put on and the swivel is easy to grip with a glove on.

On less used zips i use fishing lead links, also in stainless, without the swivels makes them nice and neat:thumb2

isn't there an ex-squaddie somewhere running around with a collection of zips :nenau

Zip pulls

+1 for Prym, I replaced some of the zip pulls on my previous Rukka gear with these and as previously said there are lots of designs and they just open and click securely in to place.
