Thinking of replacing the fog lights on my GSA

Has anybody got any photos or recomendations of replacements??

Looking to HID the lot, but i use the fogs as daytime running lights so I suspect fogs will be a better idea however i'm open to suggestions.

Just swithched over to Hella Mico DE's on the Migsel bar which will go down the HID route thanks to Les Wassell and Colebatch, still wanted a HID version of a spot and not a fan of the FF50 which Les again converts but found a source for Hellas own DE Xenon at a much more reasonable price than the £495 retail.

Giot to say the Hellas are lethal in HID form, they should carry a government health warning, or should that be wealth :D

Are you thinking of drilling the existing bar to mount them?

Thinking of doing exactly the same i.e. replacing the fog lights on my 1200 GSA with something designed for distance, as well as upgrading (to HIDs?) the main beam and dipped beams (which would be a disgrace on any bike, let alone one costing in excess of £10,000).

I'm reading all the threads I can on this issue and trying to get my head around "ballasts", "micro DE's", "FF50's" and so on, but struggling to make sense of it all.

Any advice appreciated.

Upgraded my main beam, dipped beam & fogs to HIDs Total cost was $350 for the lot - 2 auto kits with 4 ballasts & 4 Xenon bulbs from http://www.cqlight.ca/

The kit for the main/dipped was H7 & 5000K lights and fogs were H11 & 3000K (bright yellow). The 3000K are not listed but they do carry them in the size needed for the fogs.

All their ballast are the new slimline. I wired them in with no relays and so far no CANBUS faults.

Just added FF50 (HIDs as well) for riding during the fall & winter months - many many deer at night here.

Sorry no pics of the FF50s mounted.

Do the ff50's fit the existing GSA mounts?? If not what sort of mounting do they use?

How much?

HIDS on GSA

Shep,
I fitted Walter's 5k HIDS onto my GSA replacing all 4. The aux spots need a small amount of grinding with a dremel to notch them to fit into the hard plastic casing. Ohterwise, pretty painless. Pic on their way.
cheers

We were looking at a fit onto a adv Saturday and it looked like the best way could be a jubilee clip around the bars and over the 50's bracket.

Did you try and fit them on a GSA fitted with the BM light bars?

Looking at the FF50's they appear to have a flat sheet steel bracket with a single hole mounting is that correct or is it two holes?

Go for both ... fogs hid'd and Hella DE Xenons mounted above the bar (+ upgraded to 50 watt HIDs and slim ballasts) - you got to remember the Hella DE Xenons are only 35 watt out of the box and they come with the bulky, fat, old, less durable ballasts.

That way you have your running lights, and you have your driving lights ... running lights rigged up to work with low beam and the driving lights rigged up to work with high beam
