Replacing with LEDs questions.

Q1 - If you changed your dash lights for LEDs would the alternator warning light still work? Obviously it would go on and off but would it glow slightly if there was an alternator fault like an incandescent lamp does?

Q2 - I have some LED replacement lamps to fit in place of the indicator lamps. I've tried them but they just glow very faintly. I've tried them with and without the resistors supplied but with no joy. Do I need to replace the flasher unit as well?

I put these in the speedo and revv counter after seeing them on here in
somones bike, nbut tey are not brioght enough itr's ajob to read the instrumenents at night, look nice but thats it.
