the problem

When I send a certain people an e mail they take ages to reply

In fact they take so long I am often not sure they have received it

(usually our order processors in Germany )

On my old system I could click a little icon that added a request to my email
that said " sender has requested received confirmation"

I now have Windows 7 Home premium and BT yahoo , and try as I may, I can't find this feature

Does anyone know if it is still available

Even if you request a read receipt, the recipient can still opt not to send one.

You can, however, ask for a delivery receipt but it's no evidence that they have read it.

Some people read e-mails in a viewing pane - the question of 'read' receipt then doesn't come up at all.

Windows live mail is the normal mail client you get free with Windows 7, the option to request read receipt is there. HTH
