Will have a read of your tales later whilst on nights. To tell you the truth I dont really read any of the RTW reports really, I like the ride out reports and piccies of 1 day to 2 week type trips in the uk, europe and north Africa. Keep safe and enjoy yourselves.

If you would seriously like to do something similar to us I can understand many logical reasons why somebody wouldn´t want to BUT I really want to encourage you (and anybody else reading) not to just let fear of the unknown prohibit you from stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing what´s out there(here). When all said and done, whilst the food is not always to your liking and driving habits deteriorate significantly once in thrid world countries, the natives manage to live eating the food (there are normally western style options in the larger cities if you really need a McD´s to settle your stomach)and most seem to survive thier driving too.You just can´t put a $ value on what you see and experience.

I couldn't agree more Mike. No one liked their comfort factor more than me, but now I miss the buzz of riding into a strange town, can't speak the lingo, petrol stations and hotels don't look like petrol stations or hotels, if in fact there are any.

There are hardships and disappointments but as you say... you just can't put a value on your experiences, the places, and most of all the people you meet.

Keep up the good work, enjoy your trip, and good luck... we're all watching you.

Reading trip reports such as these (a) remind me what I want to do (b) motivate me to not spend all my money on booze & skirt (c) stop me from jumping out of the office window at lunchtime.

I was in Colombia last year for a few weeks (not on bike unfortunately) so I'm very much on a Latin Learning spree and looking to learn from other peoples mistakes and good fortune before pi$$ing off somewhere myself.
Good effort, keep it up.

Sorry about the previous message. I hit the wrong key.

I'm the old fart from the USA that your current traveling buddy Phil met in Mexico 2 years ago. He and Kevin, from Canada, are the ones that inspired me to go get a motorcycle. He also taught me a lot about riding, as we traveled together for a time.

I've really been enjoying your travel tales, and wish you the best of luck in your travels. Like I saw on another reply, I'd like to hear some of your thoughts and feelings about what you see as you travel and meet people. I'm also keeping track of Phil through your tales, as he doesn't write very often. ;-)
