You know when you decide to have your bike sprayed
up in you own custom colours.
Mine just being red and white.
I thought It wont be that much
so i carefully removed the tank badges pulled of the gs stickers
gently taking some paint with it.

Today i got round pricing it up...........
300 quid

Yup..

Pricey aint it..

I got offered a mint condition Adv Tank, but previously sprayed pacific blue. "I" thought it wont cost much..

 Was I wrong.. not cheap. Also kills the second hand value if its a custom paint job, be sure you want to do it before you do.

Not a bad price. A lot of our leased cars need paintwork before return. Minor scratches i.e. no body damage and in the same colour work out at about £150.00 per panel for doors wings etc.
And thats on a flat panel. Thats at reasonable trade prices, very unlikely to be rejected by an auction house.

For a much cheaper effect try this.

expensive paint

When I looked into it for a previous bike I was quoted £300 for the tank, panels plus mudguards - it seems there's more to it than I had imagined, a red to black colour change is complicated, apparently, by the base colour's tendency to 'bleed' into the new colour...... or was I being wound up!

You were being wound up! The two best colours for covering others are white, and black! You and Stevie are being quoted top dollar to have your tanks repsrayed. I would charge £150 - £200 for a complete one colour respray, depending on what colour you want (if it's a custom one it might be more expensive). Plus cost of the new decals (not the B*W badge, that can stay one) pus VAT. So, I'd say realistically about £225 all in although I'm not sure of the cost of the decals.

If you want a custom job it would depend on how complex, but £300 would get you a pretty nice paint job. Give me a call if you want to discuss it further, numbers in my signature.

Cheers
